National Ag Day
Wednesday, March 25
Program times: 9am, 10:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm

 

Celebrate National Ag Day by stepping back in time to experience Iowa farm life 100 years ago. During this one-hour experience, board a wagon for a ride to the 1900 Farm, visit the barnyard to see the animals in action, and do a few hands-on activities. This program is ideal for families with young children.

 

Pre-registration is required. Space is limited! Tickets will go on sale March 4 at 10am.

Family Easter Party
Saturday, April 4
9am - noon

Fun for the entire family including: toy hunts, preschool Bunnyland, live animals, horse and wagon rides, traditional games, and free refreshments. Selected townsfolk will open their doors for spring visitors in the town of Walnut Hill.

 Ticket price includes:
 ·    FREE horse-drawn wagon rides (conditions permitting)
 ·    Egg and Toy Hunts for children up to age 10
 ·    FREE popcorn and Coca-Cola for everyone
 ·    FREE hot Breakfast Wrap courtesy of the Iowa Egg Council (for the first 1000 guests)

Festival of Cheese
Saturday, April 18
Two sessions: 3pm and 5pm

A celebration of the ultimate comfort food - cheese! Grilled cheese sandwiches, cheese fondues, cheesecake, cheese curds - you get the idea. It's the cheesiest event around. Discover what creative variations local chefs, Iowa craft cheese makers and local cheese mongers make of these traditional favorites. To assure ample opportunity for tasting, there will be two sessions, each with limited tickets sold. Please specify your time of choice when making your ticket purchase.

Living History Farms at Dawn
Saturday, April 25
6:30am-9:30am

Living History Farms at Dawn offers photographers, artists, bird watchers, and early risers the chance to experience Living History Farms in a different light, when we are not open to the public. Space is limited and is available only to guests 18 and older. Please note that normal museum activities will not be available during this time period, and historic buildings will be closed. All photographs and works must be for personal use only.

$20/person, Discount for members

Living History Farms is a non-profit, historical, educational foundation located at 11121 Hickman Road, Urbandale, Iowa. Operations and maintenance are dependent upon gate receipts, memberships, and contributions. Living History Farms opens for the general touring season on May 1, 2015.
