Living History Farms
PRESS RELEASE
May 1, 2014

Unique volunteer opportunities are waiting for you at Living History Farms!

Have you ever read a wonderful book about a different time period in the history of the United States and wondered what it would have really been like to experience it?

What would it have been like to live in Iowa in the late 1800s? How would you like to experience the life of a small-town lawyer, blacksmith, printer, or milliner? Want to see how it felt to live in a mansion or in a Victorian middle-class home? What about our 1700 Ioway Farm where you'd learn about the daily lives of the Ioway tribe, the 1850 Pioneer Farm where families were just getting started in the brand new state of Iowa, or the 1900 Farm where you'd learn and demonstrate the advances of horse-powered technology?

We are looking for adults, teens 16 and over, and families to fill these fascinating museum roles and more. You'd meet and engage with people from all over the world. Minimum time commitment is 14 hours a month and we provide training, clothing, and special benefits.

Interested? Please contact Manager of Volunteer Services Jan Milroy at JMilroy@lhf.org or call
(515)645-9818.
