I literally found Jesus in Rome this summer. It was a true miracle!

On my first day in Rome, I was up early for a special VIP tour of the Vatican. I spent all morning inside the church and then explored St. Peter's Square out front. I ate lunch and shopped in Vatican City. It was truly an amazing experience. I purchased a rosary and discovered the Pope could bless it at three o'clock. It would then be delivered to my hotel that night for no additional charge. I said, "Absolutely, yes!"

I was glad when the packaged arrived that evening.

When I opened it, I had the same reaction I have every time I see the sad Jesus on the cross. A knot in my stomach for the poor suffering Jesus. I prefer the Jesus in the pictures with little children and the lambs like at the Presbyterian Church. Nonetheless, I still loved my new blessed rosary, sad Jesus and all.

I couldn't wait to wear the rosary the next day when I was going to explore Florence and see the statue of David. I toured all day, walked miles, got on and off the bus. At the end of the day, I sat down for dinner, looked down, and saw Jesus was gone from the rosary. "Oh my God," I thought. "Where could I have lost him?" Probably anywhere in Florence! Saddened but always looking for the "message" in everything, I wondered how could this happen. It was blessed, right? I thought maybe it was because I didn't like the sad Jesus. Or maybe because I'm not a Christian? So that night in my hotel room I prayed, "Ok Jesus, if you are real, come back to me. Sorry I lost you, but I need a miracle for you to resurrect yourself and come back to me. Thank you." Then I went to bed.

The next morning my son and I were sitting on the tour bus, and he said, "Mom! I think someone just handed your Jesus to our tour guide!" The tour guide held up a little medallion in his hand and said, "Did anyone lose Jesus?" I jumped up. "I did! I did!" That is how I found Jesus in Rome!

Whichever God you pray to, always believe in miracles!
