Greetings!
Have you ever smelled a loved one in spirit? Maybe you smelled cigarettes or pipe smoke if they were a smoker in life. Have you smelled the perfume or cologne your loved one use to wear? Or you may have smelled the scent of a loved ones favorite flower? People often ask me, "Is this is possible?" and I tell them, "yes!" There is even a name for it; Clairalience meaning clear smelling. This is the ability to smell odors that don't have any kind of physical source. The psychic world communicates through our senses. Scent and memory are very tightly connected. Those in spirit close to you may wish to let you know they are present using a scent that you are sure to notice. This is a gentle way for spirits to communicate with you.
Have you ever sensed a spirit though your skin in the form of goosebumps? Skin is one of our psychic receivers as well. Our five senses are our psychic filters, so I am a big advocate of Ayurveda daily routines! Hard name to say, but easy to practice (pronounced phonetically 'eye-u-vay-da'). Ayurveda daily routines are all about taking care of your five senses. This health tradition is over 5,000 years old and is still valid today. Your five sense need to be cared for and cleansed so your sixth sense can speak through them. I tell people to take care of your five senses so you sixth sense can take care of you.
As your intuition grows, your five senses will naturally become more sensitive. If you are already sensitive to light, sound, or scents then this practice is ideal for you. In Ayurveda daily routines, you cleanse your sinuses, oil your skin, scrape your tongue and wash your eyes. Ayurveda is a great holistic routine, because it takes care of your five senses naturally and organically. After all, isn't that what we are; natural and organic. So is your sixth sense.
If you would like to learn more about Ayurveda, I am bringing my personal Ayurveda Specialist, Jennifer Andrews, to Karma next month. Sign up for her class Intro to Ayurveda.
