Greetings!

We would like to thank everyone who attended the 2013 MS Leaders Circle Welcome Reception yesterday. We were delighted to host such an incredible group of honorees and let you know about the exciting campaign ahead, including our upcoming community service projects.

As a Leaders Circle honoree, you are now an ambassador for the National MS Society, helping to increase awareness about this unpredictable disease and the important work of the Society. To help you on your journey, we have put together a 30-second elevator pitch (pdf) about our efforts. Be sure to craft your own personal message so you can proudly share your commitment to the 14,000 local people living with MS. Click here for more fundraising tools.

As we mentioned at the reception, we are offering you the opportunity to further your commitment by participating in a community service project. Based on the needs of the MS community in our area, projects include:

  • MS Service Day: Help a community of MS clients in need of hands-on assistance with yard work and other household chores
  • Legal and financial clinic: Honorees will offer pro bono services to MS clients answering legal and financial planning questions

We need five people to serve on each project steering committee, which will meet monthly from June to September as we prepare to launch the projects this fall. Please note: expertise is not a requirement - all honorees are welcome to take part in each project. This is a great opportunity to enhance your resume and volunteer leadership skills! For more information and to sign up, please email me

Now is the time to start planning your personal MS Leaders Circle experience. If we haven't already met, please email me by the end of May to set up a time to talk about your personal fundraising plan and community service projects.

I look forward to working with you over the next few months in our joint effort to create a world free of MS.

Sincerely,

Kristina McGraw
Vice President, Community Outreach
