From the Chair
by Jack Hollister
Happy New Year!
From my conversations with other associations, it sounds like we are all busy with our members trying to quickly help them understand Health Care Reform, adapt to the new legislative make-up and business climate, and strongly implement strategies to retain the best talent. All good for the EAA!
Our Spring CEO Conference is set for Hilton Head, South Carolina in March. A registration email has been sent to all CEOs and I hope to see everyone there. I am very pleased to announce that former NLRB member, Brian Hayes, will be joining us. He has just recently joined the Labor Practice group at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart. We are excited we will be able to hear from him how business can navigate the quickly changing NLRB waters. Our thanks to Matt Keen for arranging this presentation!
Our EAA board will be meeting to develop the 2013-2014 nomination slate for new board members. Voting for new board members occurs at our Spring Conference. Since serving on the Board the past few years, I can attest to the fulfillment of seeing our association develop and personally enjoy the added opportunities to connect with fellow CEOs. If you are interested in being nominated, please contact me directly.
Here is to a successful 2013!
Jack

MRA and Trusight Join Together
Growth for growth's sake is stupid. Maybe even dangerous. The true bottom line is, "What does this really DO for our organization and our members?" That's the key question MRA needed to answer this year before adding Trusight, a Minnesota-based employer association, as a division of MRA.
On October 4, the i's were dotted and the t's were crossed, officially bringing the strengths of MRA and Trusight together. While MRA is the parent organization in this merger, there are unique benefits on both sides.
With their expanded organization, the membership and staff of both MRA and Trusight gain access to a broader set of service offerings and expertise. Specifically, MRA has added to their knowledge in the areas of Labor Relations, Grant Writing, and Public Sector Consulting. Trusight's team and members now have access to additional specialized staff, the 24/7 hotline, and a wide variety of training and consulting services.
Trusight is now under the leadership of Pat Staaden, who has been an MRA Vice President since 1994. Pat has already moved to Minneapolis and is proud to be a part of the talented and dedicated Trusight team.
