January 26, 2015 -- We are happy to announce the signing of 2015 NFL Draft eligible Punter KYLE CHRISTY (6021/202), out of the University of Florida.
In 2014, Kyle was selected All-SEC (Second Team), for his 44.3 yard gross / 38.0 yard net average on 64 punts for the season. He also had 22 punts of 50+ yards and 22 punts inside the 20 yard line. The 2014 season was highlighted by a 7 punt, 52.7 yard average game against Alabama, and a 6 punt, 48.7 yard average performance against Kentucky, netting him SEC Player of the Week honors
He also performed very well at the recent Medal of Honor all star game, banging 7 punts for a 42.3/40.1 average, forcing 3 fair catches and hitting 1 50+ ball.
2014 was a growth season for Kyle as well, as he battled back from the adversity of losing his starting job midway through 2013. His competitive nature came out and he regained his starting job. Looking back, he will tell you that the adversity of 2013 made him an even better punter.
It's also interesting to note that Kyle received D1/SEC scholarship offers as a Kicker as well, and was one of the top Kickers coming out of high school. As you know, that gives your roster security insurance knowing he can do that if needed.
Full season by season notes are listed below, and you can see game video by clicking on the link on the right side column.
Kyle will primarily be working out on campus at UF as he completes his degree requirements in Civil Engineering.
Should you have any questions, wish to discuss Kyle more fully, or arrange for individual workouts after the Combine, please feel free to reach out to us at any time.
