Dear Colleagues:

The staff at the Center on Wealth and Philanthropy is happy to announce that our friend and colleague, Paul G. Schervish, was selected to receive the 2013 Distinguished Career Award from the American Sociological Association (ASA) for his many years of significant work on philanthropy, care, spirituality and morality.   Paul is a well-respected academician and researcher who has been an inspirational leader as director of CWP (formerly known as The Social Welfare Research Institute) since 1986.

The Distinguished Career Award is given annually to a person who has made a number of significant contributions to the study of altruism, morality, and/or social solidarity over an extended period of time. It is intended to recognize a senior scholar's cumulative achievements.   The award will be presented at the ASA's Annual Meeting in New York City this August.

We offer our congratulations to Paul for being the recipient of this eminent award.
