The 2016 legislative session came to a close on Friday.

 

With the help of our advocates, Iowa State University received a $2.2 million increase to its general operating budget in effort to help our growing enrollment which encompasses more than 21,000 Iowans - more than any other institution. Although this amount falls short of the requested $8.2 million increase, this year's legislative budget situation was among the worst the state has faced in the last six years. The university is grateful for the resources the legislature was able to invest in Iowa State. 

 

Iowa State University is proud to serve the needs of students and provide a great place to pursue a degree. Iowa State students continue to be the pipeline for companies. Employment recruiting activity indicates that the demand for Iowa State graduates remains strong. While many employers aim to hire one Cyclone candidate, some hire more than 50 Iowa State students and alumni each year.

Did you know? During FY15, Iowa State graduates achieved a 95% placement rate within six months of graduation. Of those graduates who entered the workforce, 66% of the Iowa resident graduates remained in Iowa to begin their careers.
