Fairgoers find their name on the
ISU alumni wall.

The Iowa State University state fair exhibit boasts "Adventurous Iowa Staters Making Iowa Greater." The names of all 97,002 living alumni in the state are featured on an alumni wall as part of the display. The exhibit will share the multitude of ways that graduates impact the state.
More than 150 Iowa State faculty and staff will volunteer their time to work in the exhibit which is open 9AM-9PM through Aug. 17 in the northeast corner of the Varied Industries Building.
Visitors can learn about alumni services and programs, use the online alumni directory, and watch videos featuring Iowa State alumni who are living their Cyclone adventures in Iowa. Watch Cyclone athletics video highlights and snap photos with the Iowa Corn CyHawk Series trophy and Big 12 Conference championship trophies for the 2014 men's basketball and women's cross country titles.
There's an app for that
ISU Extension and Outreach has again partnered with The Des Moines Register on a Food Finder mobile application. In addition to providing nutritional information and locations for all of the fair's food offerings, the free app provides a searchable schedule of events -- including a list of healthy activities. The three-year partnership with the Des Moines Register saw more than 24,000 downloads and 1.3 million page views in 2013.
4-H and more
4-H Youth Development is headquartered at Iowa State University and available through ISU Extension and Outreach offices in all Iowa counties. An estimated 2,800 youth display thousands of projects and stage hundreds of performances in the 4-H Exhibits Building. Another 3,000 livestock entries are shown by 4-H members in various venues.
