The 2014 Iowa legislative session is now complete and Iowa State University once again received tremendous bipartisan support from Iowa's lawmakers. Most significantly, legislators approved a budget that will enable a tuition freeze for resident, undergraduate students for the second year in a row! Such action has not taken place at Iowa State for 35 years!
Please take the time to send a message to your local legislator thanking them for their support in making higher education in Iowa affordable for students. We appreciate their hard work in making Iowa State University a great institution!
In addition to funding the second straight tuition freeze, legislators made significant investments in Iowa State's economic development programs, the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, agriculture research, and provided multi-year funding for the Biosciences Building project that promises to add more classrooms and labs in order to keep pace with new teaching methods and increased enrollment.
Thank you for supporting Iowa State University through the Alliance for Iowa State. We strive for this type of legislative success each year. With your continued support, we can achieve positive results like this in the future.
A note to graduating seniors: Don't forget to subscribe to the Alliance for Iowa State with your personal email as you will no longer have access to your Iowa State account.
