We are excited to announce that NBC's Today Show is scheduled to feature Central Iowa and the greater Des Moines area on Tuesday, January 21! The segment will focus on the high quality of life that we as Iowans enjoy. Iowa State University is committed to enhancing that quality of life by contributing in a number of ways, including:
- Being a lead partner in the Capital Corridor Initiative, which is a regional planning effort established to solidify Central Iowa as the national leader in the biosciences. Specifically, this effort will bolster the region's economy by facilitating innovation and growth in industries focusing on animal health, plant sciences, biofuels, and food and nutrition.
- Offering flexible degree programs for working professionals. ISU offers a highly ranked part-time MBA program at Capital Square in Des Moines, taught by the same faculty who teach the full-time MBA in Ames, to allow Central Iowans to advance their education while continuing their careers.
- Partnering with King and Moulton elementary schools in Des Moines to enhance students' educational experiences while also providing them with a clear pathway to attend college.
Did you know? In Polk County alone, more than 4,000 residents are currently enrolled at ISU; more than 24,000 ISU alumni reside in the county; more than 7,000 residents were assisted by ISU Extension and Outreach; and more than 800 businesses organizations have received assistance from IPRT, CIRAS or the SBDC. |
