Acting as an economic development powerhouse for the entire state, the Iowa State University Research Park is entering its 28th year of creating new jobs, companies, and opportunities in Iowa.
Currently, the ISU Research Park, located in Ames, houses 60 tenant companies with over 1,200 employees generating more than $70 million annually in salaries. In addition to the rapid development in Ames, more than 40 "alum" companies have moved from the Research Park to other areas of Iowa, employing an additional 2,500 people.
Acting through a series of partnerships between Iowa State University, businesses, and every level of government, the Research Park is where science and technology based entities build new opportunities out of ideas. Leveraging the intellectual capital of Iowa State University - one of the leading research institutions in the world - the Research Park connects business, organizations, and researchers with the resources they need to be successful.
The Research Park serves tenants of any size including start-ups, small-staff operations, growing entrepreneurial ventures and corporations with multiple locations worldwide. Current companies represent a wide variety of fields including biotechnology, information technology, agriculture, advanced manufacturing, health, and many more.
As the Research Park enters a new phase of growth, it promises to enhance the potential of Iowa to recruit and retain highly innovative and growing companies with quality, high paying jobs. Potential growth of the Research Park is projected to consist of 3,000 total employees while generating more than $170 million annually in salaries.
