Iowa State University students continue to be the pipeline for companies. The recruiting activity reported by ISU Career Services this fall indicates that the demand for Iowa State graduates remains strong. Each year the university holds eight career fairs and many other recruiting events to help students and graduates connect with employers. Many colleges also host on-campus interviews to make it convenient for students to meet with employers. This fall alone, 730 employers visited campus to conduct interviews and/or participate in one of the four careers fairs held to date. This compares to 599 during the same period last year and 868 for all of the 2011-2012 academic year.
Career Services also operates an electronic job board called CyHire where employers can promote their employment opportunities to students and alumni. When employers using CyHire are included, a total of 3,193 employers recruited Iowa State talent during the 2012-2013 academic year, and the number is expected to be higher this year!
Many of these employers hope to hire one Cyclone candidate, but some hire 50 or more Iowa State students and alumni each year to fill full-time and internship positions. The goal is to make as many employment opportunities as possible available to students and alumni, so employers of all sizes are encouraged to recruit at Iowa State University.
