Home Blessings

throughout the Epiphany Season

Home Blessings This being the season in which we remember the visit of the wise men to the home of the Holy Family, it's traditional at this time of the church year to call upon God to renew holiness in our own homes as well. If you would like Pastor Bill to pay you a visit and to pray a blessing for your home, please speak with him, or sign up in the narthex.

Lord's Prayer Sermon Series

during the month of January

As part of our Life Long Faith Formation plan, we will emphasize the Lord's Prayer in January. Look forward to the following themes in January's Preaching.

  • January 4 (2nd Sunday of Christmas)
-- "On Earth As It Is In Heaven"
  • January 11 (Baptism of Our Lord)
    -- "Our Father
  • January 18 (Confession of St. Peter)
    -- "Hallowed Be Thy Name"
  • January 25 (Conversion of St. Paul)
    -- "Deliver Us From Evil"

Commemorations this Week

Friday, January 2

Johann Konrad Wilhelm Loehe

renewer of the church, died 1872

A nineteenth-century German Lutheran pastor, Loehe worked to enliven the church with the eucharist at its center, from which would flow evangelism and social ministry. He sent pastors to North America, Australia, New Guinea, Brazil, and the Ukraine.
