HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING:
As part of a Capital Improvements Program (CIP) project to replace the water main servicing your community, construction on Catalina Boulevard, from Tennyson Street to the northeast end of Catalina Boulevard, will begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 to install the new 24" water main.*
Work in this area will include the installation of a temporary water source (high-line pipes) that will allow you to have water service during construction and until the new water main is connected, as well as the connection of services. Please exercise caution when parking along the high-line as tires can rupture the pipe. We anticipate completion by mid-September 2016.*
The crews will return to conduct the installation of a new 8" distribution line as well as implement final paving and striping towards the end of the project.
Please see below for information regarding traffic lane access on Catalina Boulevard that will be implemented during the installation of the new 24" water main.
- On Catalina Boulevard between Tennyson and Voltaire Streets
- Northbound lane - available
- Southbound lane - unavailable; detour will take southbound traffic east on Voltaire Street, south on San Clemente Street, north on Tennyson Street and back to Catalina Boulevard.
- On Catalina Boulevard between Voltaire and Whittier Streets
- Northbound lane - available
- Southbound lane - available
- On Catalina Boulevard between Whittier Street and northeast end of Catalina Boulevard, at cul-de-sac - closed; only local access will be provided.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while work begins on this project. Every provision will be taken to quickly and efficiently complete the work.
