HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING ON:
Robinson Avenue between Fifth and Eighth Avenues
As a part of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project to replace the water mains servicing your community, construction in this area will begin on Sunday night, October 4, 2015 at 9 p.m. The crews will replace the existing water main on Robinson Avenue between Fifth and Eighth Avenues. Remaining work in this area will include installing individual service lines from the water main to each property as well as street paving.
On Robinson Avenue between Fifth and Sixth Avenues (up to the alley), the work will be implemented at night and will require full street closures during work hours. See map below for construction work zone/closure area and detours. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. We anticipate completion of this stretch by 6 a.m., Friday, October 9, with additional, less restrictive work continuing through October/early November.
On Robinson Avenue between Sixth (at the alley) and Eighth Avenues, the work will take place at night, starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday night, October 11 and will require full street closures during work hours. See map below for construction work zone/closure area and detours. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. We anticipate completion by 3 a.m. on Friday, October 16, with additional, less restrictive work continuing through October/early November 2015.
Work continuing after October 16 through early November will be less restrictive work such as completing installation of individual service lines from the main to each property, testing of the new water main, disinfecting, performing tie-ins and paving. This work will alternate between day work and night work.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while work progresses on this project. Every provision will be taken to quickly and efficiently complete the work.

This Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project will replace about four miles of old, deteriorating, cast iron water mains with new Polyvinyl-Chloride (PVC) pipes. PVC pipes offer improved service reliability and a longer service life. Improvements also include new valves, fire hydrants and installation of curb ramps that facilitate access for persons with disabilities. In addition, streets that have been excavated as part of this work will be slurry sealed as phases are completed. Any areas of vegetation or landscaping that are affected will be replaced. Construction of this infrastructure project is expected to last about three years.
