Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement Project &
Sewer and Water Group 809

      You are subscribed to received construction updates on the Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement Project and Sewer and Water Group Job 809.     

  • The construction activity on Avenida De La Playa from the boardwalk to Camino Del Sol will continue to be brisk for the next two weeks. The large crane is being used to place the sections of the box culvert. 20 sections of box culvert were installed Thursday, May 8 and 19 sections are scheduled for Friday, May 9.
  • The new water main for this phase is currently being installed.
  • New sewer laterals have been installed under the box culvert for 2110 and 2120 Avenida De La Playa.
  • The street is starting to look like its old self west of Camino Del Oro. The curb and sidewalk have been poured and backfill and compaction for the new concrete road surface has begun.
  • Because of the multiple delays, that have been well documented in these updates, work on the Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement Project will resume after Labor Day with the installation of the Nutrient Separating Baffle Box at the intersection of El Paseo Grande and Avenida De La Playa. Also, the low diversion vault at Camino Del Sol will be installed after the summer moratorium.
  • For Sewer and Water Group Job 809, installation of the sewer main and sewer laterals continues on Paseo Del Ocaso between Avendia De La Playa and Vallecitos.
  • Following the Memorial Day Weekend, Group Job 809 will shift construction activities to the east side of La Jolla Shores Drive. Small stretches of sewer lines will be replaced on Vallecitos, Avenida De La Playa and Paseo Dorado.
