Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement Project &
Sewer and Water Group 809

You are subscribed to received construction updates on the Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement Project and Sewer and Water Group Job 809

  • The next phase of construction on Avenida De La Playa has moved to between Camino Del Oro and Camino Del Sol. The contractor, HPS Mechanical, will be installing the box culvert.
  • Currently on this portion of the street, SDG&E is undergrounding the power lines. This work is separate from the Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement project and will be completed in the next two weeks.
  • Due to the work on the new phase of the project, three garages will not be able to be accessed by the residents in this area. The project team has worked closely during the past two weeks with the community to locate and provide temporary parking for these residents. Those residents will be able to park at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. Thank you to Megan Alapi for her effort in working with William Kellogg, the owner of the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, to secure the parking spaces. Also, thank you to those in the community who also assisted the project team with this important issue.
  • The closure of Avenida De La Playa from Camino Del Sol to the boat launch will continue through this phase of work. A locked gate will be installed and the only pedestrian traffic that will be allowed on Avenida De La Playa from Camino Del Sol to Camino Del Oro will be the residents whose garages cannot be accessed. They will be given keys by the contractor when the gate is installed, which may be by the end of the first week in April.
  • For Sewer and Water Group Job 809, work continues on El Paseo Grande, Paseo Del Ocaso and Camino Del Oro with the installation of sewer laterals.
  • ADA compliant curb ramps are being installed in several areas of the 809 project.
  • The archeological survey continues on Hypatia Way, La Jota Way and St. Louis Terrace.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while work progresses on this project. Every provision will be taken to quickly and efficiently complete the work.
