You are subscribed to received construction updates on the Avenida De La Playa Infrastructure Replacement Project and Sewer and Water Group Job 809.
- The storm has passed and the work continues on both projects. This week the roof supports of the newly-installed outfall structure will be removed and the contractor will clean up all the concrete form debris. Next week, the existing sea wall will be tied in and the following week will see the installation of three flap gate valves.
- Due to a quality control issue with material from a supplier and recent rain, the Infrastructure Replacement Project lost several days off its schedule. The City has granted the contractor permission to expand working hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and has approved work on Saturdays in order to meet the construction deadline.
- Within the next week, three large palm trees will be removed in the second block of Avenida De La Playa between Camino Del Oro and Camino Del Sol as part of the preparation to start the next phase of the box culvert installation.
- The next phase of construction will require the closing of Avenida de la Playa at Camino Del Sol. This is in addition to the current closure at Camino Del Oro. Please follow the detour signs that will be clearly posted.
- Work to install the new sewer line on Avenida De La Playa west of Camino Del Oro will start next week. Installation of the water main will follow once the sewer line is completed.
- For Sewer and Water Group Job 809, work continues on the northern portion of El Paseo Grande with the installation of laterals. The next two weeks will see the installation of manholes near the intersection of Camino Del Oro and El Paseo Grande and on Paseo Del Ocaso.
The archeological survey has now expanded to include Hypatia Way, La Jota Way and St. Louis Terrace.
