Evolution Window Films
October 2014

Just wanted to share with you some exciting news about one of the buildings that we worked on this summer here in Niagara.  Niagara College's Teaching Winery has a building with a lot of windows that were causing the interior to heat up.  We installed window film and it got some amazing results.  We tracked the temperature before and after installation and the results speak for themselves.  Check out the story below for the full details.

Have you ever been to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?  If you have, then you know about their pyramid shaped building with a lot of windows.  They were having trouble with heat as well, and window film proved to be successful in saving energy.  Check out the video below to hear what their CFO has to say about the return on investment.

Just for fun, we created a new board on PINTEREST with some creative ideas for holiday window displays.  Check out the link below to be #inspired!

Enjoy, and keep in touch.

Sincerely,

Sam Bellhouse

Niagara College Winery

Niagara College's Wine Visitor + Education Centre is home to Niagara's Teaching Winery, as well as a wine retail and tourism information centre.  This beautiful building is surrounded by glass windows with a beautiful view of the Vineyards and surrounding areas.

The challenge with all of these windows is the intense heat generated inside the building.  The direct sunlight and hot spots are not comfortable for guests to the centre, and not an ideal environment for storing wine. During the hot days of summer, the HVAC system was under intense load trying to cool the area.

Even with more extreme, and higher maximum exterior temperature, window film offered a more consistent interior temperature and lowered the maximum peak temperature.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Window Film is Rocking Energy Savings at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

Did you know the pyramid-shaped Rock and Roll Hall of Fame building has 1500 panes of glass?!

You can imagine what it would be like to be inside this building on a hot sunny day!  No worries any longer.

Window Film was installed to cut down on glare and save energy.   Brian Kenyon, the Corporate Financial Officer, says that they expect 8-12% energy savings as well as other benefits.  He mentions, in the short video below, that temperatures are now more regulated, the HVAC system will not have to work as hard because of the reduced temperatures, and there is already a noticeable glare reduction.
