Cellcom: There is no doubt that free Wi-Fi hotspots in public places are convenient, but they are often not secure. If you connect to a Wi-Fi network, and send information through websites or mobile apps, it has potential to be accessed by someone else. When using a hotspot, log in or send personal information only to websites you know are fully encrypted. To determine if a website is encrypted, look for "https" at the start of the web address (the "s" is for secure). For more tips on protecting your device and personal information, visit www.cellcom.com/security.html

Manitowoc Public School District (MPSD): The November 4, election has three MPSD-related recurring referendum questions. Why recurring? Using an analogy of a house: The items comprising the existing budget are contained in the house. Operations, safety/security, and technology expenses have created overcrowding conditions. A recurring referendum would bump up the ceiling on the house. The ceiling would remain at the new level. It doesn't go up over time. However, the tax levy could go down if the expenses fit within the capacity of the house in any year.
