Leadership Manitowoc County Class of 2012-2013 Graduates

 

 
  
Congratulations to the 24 members of the Leadership Manitowoc County class of 2012-2013 on their graduation from the program. Throughout the past nine months, these business professionals learned about Manitowoc County, worked on service projects, and made business contacts and friends along their journey. Thank you to their employers for their support of the graduates throughout the year, the LMC Curriculum Committee for planning and coordinating the class sessions, and to NextEra Energy Resources Point Beach Nuclear Plant for their sponsorship of the program.

PT-USA Celebrates 5-Year Anniversary with Ribbon Cutting

 

  

Stuart & Kate Aitken, owners of PT-USA, recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the 5-year Anniversary of their business located at 826A South 8th Street, Manitowoc.  Assisting the Aitken's with the ribbon cutting are their children, Joshua, Kharis and Isla May, The Chamber of Manitowoc County Executive Director Karen Szyman, Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels, members of The Chamber's Board of Directors and Chamber Ambassadors.  PT-USA is a member of the advertising specialty industry, and assists businesses with marketing and advertising through the use of promotional products.

Safety Forum Held at Manitowoc Wastewater Treatment Facility
 

Chamber members had a unique opportunity to tour the Manitowoc Wastewater Treatment Plant at the Safety Council Forum!  The tour was very interesting and those participating had a very knowledgeable tour guide.  Thank you to Brian Helminger, for facilitating the tour.  Everything that was covered was truly fascinating!

Holy Family Memorial Celebrates Newly Renovated Women's & Children's Center with Ribbon Cutting

 

After a nine-month renovation process, Holy Family Memorial President/CEO Mark Herzog recently celebrated the Grand Opening of the newly renovated Women's & Children's Center located in the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, 2300 Western Avenue, Manitowoc, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  Assisting Herzog with the ribbon cutting are:  Ruth Rodda, Director-Women's & Children's Health Services; Marcia Donlon-Chief Nursing Officer; Dr. Amy Stockhausen-HFM Pediatrics; Dr. William Leach-HFM Women's Health; Dr. Jennifer Paltzer-HFM Women's Health and Dr. Andrea Taleon-HFM Pediatrics; The Chamber of Manitowoc County Executive Director Karen Szyman; members of The Chamber's Board of Directors and Chamber Ambassadors.  Holy Family Memorial's new Women's and Children's Center was created with the goal in mind to create an environment that will not only help patients heal, but inspire patients to become healthier.

Ambassadors Award Scholarships

   

The Chamber of Manitowoc County Ambassadors are pleased to once again award three, $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors, who are employed by, or have a parent or guardian that is employed by a Chamber-member business or organization. The 2013 winners are: Haily Pederson, Kewaunee High School, Daniel Hemken, Lincoln High School; and Emily Halvorsen, Roncalli High School. Presenting the check to the winners are, left to right,  Peters; Dianne Stewart, Lowe's Home Improvement; Bob Peronto, Comcast; Halvorsen; Ollie Larsen, WOMT/WQTC Radio; Tammy Fischer, Foster Needle; Karen Szyman, The Chamber of Manitowoc County Executive Director; Jamie Lee; and Peggy Krey, Capitol Civic Centre. Absent from the picture is Daniel Hemken, representing Lincoln High School, who was unable to attend.
