Al-Amal Receives The "Best School Award" Third Year in a Row
Al-Amal School participated in the 66th Annual Central Minnesota Regional Science Fair at St. Cloud State University on February 20, 2016. For the THIRD year in a row, Al-Amal School received the Best School Award. The school also received Most Projects Award. 

Al-Amal's formidable performance is best epitomized by the fact that for the third year in a row, at least one Al-Amal student has been promoted to participate in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). This year, it will be held in Phoenix, Arizona in May, 2016. Ahmed Shahkhan of 8th grade is ISEF bound as an observer. He also received Wayland Ezell Memorial Scholarship to St. Cloud State University. 


The Best School Award is given to the school that wins the highest percentage of Premium Awards at the competition. Premium Award winners advance to the Minnesota State Science and Engineering finals to be held in April. 

Al-Amal's awards tally at this competition is as follows:

* 1 International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) Award
* 17 Premium Awards in Exhibits
* 5 Premium Awards in Research Papers
* 9 Special Awards
* 16 Merit Awards
* 1 Honorable Mention
* 1 scholarship 

The success of the school at highly competitive events like these is a testimony to the selfless effort that teachers at Al-Amal School make to nurture the future generations. 
 
The school would like to thank the team comprising of Sr. Hala Bazzi, Sr. Nadia W., Sr. Rawan Hamade, Sr. Rahema Rashed and other teachers for their tremendous dedication in preparing the science fair teams. Thanks are also due to Dr. Syed Dara for carefully reviewing each project and many other volunteers who helped judge at the school science fair and provided valuable feedback. 

The following teams will be competing at the Minnesota Science and Engineering Fair finals in April 3-5.




Central Minnesota Regional Science Fair 2015-2016
 
Al-Amal School teams performed extremely well and competed against some of the best teams. Following are the details of Al-Amal's performance at the competition.
   
 

Project Exhibit Competition:
- 26 teams from Al-Amal competed in the exhibit category at the Central MN Regional Science Fair Competition.

- Al-Amal teams received 17 Premium awards out of the 41 that were awarded in the exhibit category. This accounted for 41% of all Premium awards for the exhibit category. These 17 teams will compete at the state finals in exhibit category in April.
 
 
Research Paper Competition:
- 12 research papers from Al-Amal were invited to present at the Central MN Regional Science Fair Research Paper Competition.

- Al-Amal teams received 5 Premium awards out of the 6 that were awarded at the Research Paper Competition. This accounted for a whopping 83% of all Premium awards for the research paper category. These 5 teams will compete at the state finals in research paper category.



Special Awards:



The participating students have been spending enormous amounts of time working on their science projects. Al-Amal teachers and administration gave their full backing to the students. We wish the best to these teams as they move on to other competitions and the state finals.
Al-Amal 8th Grader is ISEF Bound!

Ahmed Shahkhan, an Al-Amal 8th grader was selected to attend International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) as an observer. ISEF finalists have to be in high school to compete. Ahmed's project titled "Aqua Rovotics" received the highest points for a project at the Central Minnesota Science Fair. ISEF will be held in Phoenix, AZ from May 8 - 13. He also won the Wayland Ezell Memorial Scholarship to the St. Cloud State Univ.

The ISEF, a program of Society for Science & the Public (SSP), is the world's largest international pre-college science competition. More than 1,700 high school students from over 70 countries, regions, and territories are awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for more than $5 million in prizes.

March is Al-Amal Walk the Halls Month - Admissions Are Open!
Al-Amal School is pleased to announce that the 2015-2016 admissions are open. You are welcome to walk the halls of Al-Amal, meet with the school administration, teachers, and take a tour of the building. 

Open seats are limited - especially in middle and high school. Therefore, we encourage you to apply early to avoid getting added to the waiting list.
