Eat Turkey - Don't be One
Thanksgiving may be the start of the online buying season - though for some of our clients it may be the end of season - but it's the busy season for online scammers. Don't be an online turkey. This month's Technology Update will feature things you need to know to stay out of trouble. If we could sum them all up, we'd say our tips come down to this:
- If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
- Take your time to understand everything you are doing and click on the correct prompts.
- If an email or website doesn't look right, delete it or get out of it.
- Use common sense
On another seasonal note, here's one more reason not to leave computers and other electronics in your car overnight. In addition to risking theft, you're risking weather damage. Going from extreme cold to room temperature can cause condensation, which can lead to other problems.
With all of those warnings out of the way, we want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and a happy holiday season. No matter what your religious beliefs and preferences may be, we all look forward to enjoying time with family and friends, and we are all thankful for the opportunity.
