Sporting Life
On a much happier note, Sterling Rose sponsored our son Charlie's youth soccer team this fall. We're not going to recap the season or tell you the team's record. All of that is secondary to watching the kids go out to have fun, learn skills and develop new friendships.
Parents developed new friendships, too, and that's something we appreciated as new residents of our community. If you get the chance to sponsor a youth sports team, you'll enjoy the same rewards we did.

Microsoft Patch Day
The second Tuesday of every month is known as Microsoft Patch Day. It's the day that Microsoft issues all of its software patches designed to make your operating system more secure and efficient. We recommend you run Microsoft Update to find the appropriate updates for your Windows OS software and for other Microsoft programs you run, such as Microsoft Office. If you're not sure where to find Microsoft Update or which patches and updates to download, call us at 973-433-6676, and we'll walk you through the steps.

Storm Central - Recovering and Rebuilding
With Sandy and a Nor'easter in our rear view mirror, it's time to recover and rebuild. We hope everyone is now back online and fully functional at the office and at home. We lost power for more than a week, but when we got it back, we were pleased to offer our clients a place to come in, connect and catch up. Having people working on long tables in our family room gave us an opportunity to inspire each other to move on with our recovery and rebuilding efforts.
Early-season storms are no predictor of a bad winter to come. However, we'd like to refer you to the stormy-weather checklist we sent in advance of Sandy. It's a step-by-step guide for preparing for major power and communications-services outages and for restoring your systems later. We highly recommend you print a copy or two for every location where you have a computer and/or entertainment network.
