On Friday, August 24th we will be hosting Dr. Carl Misch's seminar. I hope you are attending along with the 125 Drs. from around the state. We are also having our first bi-monthly CE Meeting at The Club on September 4th with Dr. Peter Waite. Please register early. Our first bi-monthly speaker meeting of the season will be on Tuesday, September 4th, the day after Labor Day. We will continue to use The Club atop Red Mountain to host our meetings. Our meeting starts with social time at 5:30pm and our dinner and meeting gets started at 6:15pm. The National Dental PBRN is now enrolling new practitioners
The national network is a consortium of practices and clinics devoted principally to the oral health care of patients, but whose members investigate research questions with practical impact that will improve the quality of dental care.
The goals are to conduct national oral health studies on topics of importance to practitioners and their patients, to provide evidence to improve routine dental care, and to facilitate movement of the latest evidence into routine clinical practice. A key objective is to conduct studies that will improve the knowledge base for clinical decision-making.
Hundreds of practitioners and thousands of patients have benefited by participating in the first phase during 2005-2012, which involved three regional networks. The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (www.NIDCR.nih.gov), part of the National Institutes of Health, has provided the nation an unprecedented, historic opportunity by funding the next phase - a single national network. This is "the nation's network" and we hope that you will join us to make this network the precious national resource that it can be.
The National Dental PBRN is now enrolling practitioners. You can enroll online by going to http://NationalDentalPBRN.org and clicking on the "Enroll Now" tab and following directions from there. You need to have a functioning email address to enroll. If you previously participated in another network such as the DentalPBRN, PEARL or PRECEDENT, you will need to re-enroll. ALDA Conducting Dental Insurance Issues Survey
ALDA is conducting a member survey on dental insurance issues so that we can identify the insurance issues most important to our members. The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete. The results compiled from the survey will play an important part in the association's planning for 2013.
