CORRECTION: Yesterday I reported that Dr. Vest was involved in a motorcycle accident.  That was incorrect. Dr. Vest was injured in a bicycling accident.  My apologies for the error.

Here is an update from his wife Janet.

Many of you have learned of Richard Vest's recent bicycling accident which left him with fractures of two cervical and one thoracic vertebrae. Amazingly there was no paralysis or any nerve damage at all, and we continually thank God for His great mercy and protection of Richard from further harm.  Of course these injuries will take a few months for him to completely heal, but he looks forward to returning to his periodontal/implant practice even in a limited capacity soon.  

Many of you have graciously offered and some already given assistance to help keep things going at the office. Richard and his family, along with his staff, thank you from the bottom of their hearts. You will probably be continued to be called upon for a few more weeks!

Those of you who know Richard, know that he is an avid biker and runner, having qualified for Boston just a few months ago when he ran the Huntsville Marathon. Surely his extremely fit body, commitment to good health and nutrition, and his persevering spirit will only help him heal quickly and restore him fully. 

On behalf of Richard and all our family, we thank you for your kind expressions of concern, and we ask that you continue to pray for his complete and speedy recovery.
