PROJECTIONS and REFLECTIONS
Dear Colleagues,
We trust that you have had an enjoyable summer season and along the way were able to schedule time for R & R (Rest and Relaxation).
Initially, I wish to express appreciation to our previous President, Dr. Robert Rudolph for his dedicated service and commitment to our society. Additional gratitude is extended to the numerous members who serve on committees, as well as the delegates, representatives, and members of the Executive Council. Your contributions are vital to our success.
Following the tradition of our past leadership, I wish to apprise you of our future activities.

POLITICAL UPDATES
We will keep our meetings succinct but will continue to inform you of ever changing events at the state and national levels while providing current news within our society.
FINANCES AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT
The society has improved its financial status and your Executive Council (EC) continues to be committed to fiduciary accountability. In concert with the EC, your Executive Director, Mr. Richard Morgan has worked diligently with our Treasurer, Dr. Gerry Walker to insure cost efficient management of our resources. Concomitantly, Mr. Morgan has established a dynamic website that represents a marvelous modality for timely updates and information. Furthermore, in recognizing the significance of digital media, the BDDS is now on Facebook and Twitter.
REFLECTIONS
Having been a BDDS member for thirty six years, I can state unstintingly that I have left every meeting with one or more "educational pearls" that strengthened my knowledge bank.
Many times, the interpersonal interaction with colleagues provided collateral knowledge which augmented the formal C E presentation. Quite honestly, I never wanted to miss a single meeting, as each time I walked away wiser for having attended.
As always, we welcome your input, and accordingly, I look forward to greeting you at our meetings for a rewarding evening of friendship, camaraderie, information, and "take home pearls of new knowledge."
Cordially,
Milton E. Essig
