WHET YOUR WHISTLE:
January's featured beers...
Last Chance IPA Weyerbacher Brewing Co | American IPA | Easton, PA | 5.9% This is a west coast-style, full-flavored hop assault delightfully lacking in balance. The combination of hops produce strong aromas of grapefruit, pine and citrus. And it's named - "Last Chance" - for a good cause: Animal Rescue. Weyerbacher donates a portion of the proceeds from this brew to small, regional animal rescue operations. Pretty in Pink Bluejacket, Lost Rhino Brewing Company & Hardywood Park Craft Brewery | Saison | Local collaboration, DC & VA | 5.8% In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, four women from different breweries came together to craft a beer for hope. Using the finest malts, two strains of hops, and Ardennes ale yeast, they produced a brisk and delicious saison. The addition of hibiscus and pomegranate further layered it with a slight tartness, hints of spice and a pinkish glow. Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery | Baltic Porter | Farmville, NC | 9.0% This porter is deep, rich and velvety soft. Its full-blooded, roasty character is balanced by complex alcohol notes. Strong yet unfailingly subtle, this special brew warrants sipping and savoring.
