The holidays are fast approaching. Are you one of those well-oiled merry machines, who has a carefully-constructed plan of attack for decorating, shopping and entertaining? Maybe you're having trouble mustering that winter cheer because it's 60 degrees outside? Or, if you're like me, you aren't yet feeling the need to dash to the mall because last year's lights are still hung with care over the mantle? Whatever your situation, why not come relax/get in the mood/procrastinate with us at one of our festive holiday programs? We won't pressure you to do anything but have fun!

Renwick Holiday Festival
Saturday, December 8, 11am - 2pm
Ring in the holidays with a 40 under 40: Craft Futures themed festival. Get creative with 40 under 40 artist Shawn Smith and create 3D pixel ornaments. Enjoy hot apple cider, winter craft activities, and scavenger hunts while pianist Amy Conley plays seasonal music. Stop by Andy Paiko's Spinning Wheel on the first floor to see spinner Anne O'Connor demonstrating. Lots of fun for the whole family!



Steinway Series with Washington National Opera
Sunday, December 9, 3pm
Start the holiday season with a special concert featuring Philadelphia's Dolce Suono Trio and the Washington National Opera's Domingo-Cafritz Young Artists performing the music of Mozart and Schubert. Free tickets (required) are available in the G Street lobby beginning at 2:30pm.  



21st Century Consort
The Passion of Scrooge or A Christmas Carol
Saturday, December 15, 5pm
Jon Deak's theatrical setting of Charles Dickens's classic, The Passion of Scrooge or A Christmas Carol, will be followed by Benjamin Britten's incomparable A Ceremony of Carols. Special guests are William Sharp, and the Washington National Cathedral Girl Choristers, directed by Michael McCarthy. Tickets, including a post-concert reception, are $20. Take 5! "Cool Yule" with the Brad Linde Quartet
Thursday, December 20, 5 - 7pm
Brad Linde and Sarah Hughes present an evening of holiday music arranged for their jazz quartet and brass ensemble. Listen to your favorite Christmas classics as you've never heard them in the Brad Linde Quartet's unique post-cool, free-bop style. During the concert, grab a festive drink ans snack from the Courtyard Cafe or join us for a free drawing workshop: build your own sketchbook from recycled materials to take home or give as a holiday gift!
