Kyphoplasty at OCPBC

Dr. Gerard D'Ariano has been preforming the Kyphoplasty procedure since its inception over 15 years ago. He is an expert in this procedure as well as in the field of reconstructive spinal surgery.Dr. D'Ariano performs Kyphoplasty procedures conveniently and safely, in our state of the art fluoroscopy suite located within our Lake Worth office. Kyphoplasty is a proven method of treating the debilitating pain of thoracic and lumbar compression fractures.
Kyphoplasty has been shown to not only dramatically reduce serious back pain, but also to enhance vertebral height and restore proper vertical alignment of the spine. The procedure, also referred to as Balloon-Assisted Vertebroplasty or Vertebral Augmentation, is a minimally-invasive procedure that requires no incisions and utilizes a small needle to inject medical grade bone cement. The cement stabilizes the bone reducing pain and the chances of further collapse and deformity. It is performed using local anesthetic and a mild oral analgesic, and takes between 10-15 minutes.
