After two grueling weeks of marching at the Keeneland September Sale and a careful observance of over four thousand horses, the results are in and overall numbers suggest that things are trending upwards and the market is stabilizing.

The average price of a horse at the sale was $102,549, which is up 3.26 percent from last year's average of $99,312. The median price tied the sale's all-time high of $50,000, also achieved the previous two years of the sale.

In addition to purchasing five yearlings for our pinhooking partnership and two for our racing partnership, Hidden Brook's consignment was able to gross $2,939,200 over the course of the sale.

Selling highlights for Hidden Brook included Hip #'s 474 and 622, who each sold for $420,000 and $450,000, respectively. Other notable prices from the consignment include Hip #341 for $225,000, Hip #1480 for $270,000, and Hip #341 for $225,000.

We would like to take this moment to thank all of our owners and purchasers, as well as all of the Hidden Brook team who helped run our consignment.

Hidden Brook partnership filly Catch My Drift followed up her stakes win on August 24th with a 3rd place finish in the G1 Beldame Stakes at Belmont Park on September 26th, bringing her lifetime record to 10-4-2-1 and adding more black type to her resume.

In the very next race at Belmont, partnership filly Neck of the Moon lived up to her name, winning by a neck in the 6th race and improving her record to 13-4-3-4.

Catch My Drift and Neck of the Moon were purchased by Hidden Brook for $95,000 and $60,000, respectively - a total of $155,000 - and in these forty minutes alone they combined to bring home a sum of $92,000.

Throughout their careers they have combined to accumulate $534,715.

Four-year-old Catch My Drift is by Pioneer of the Nile and out of Drift to the Lead. Five-year-old Neck of the Moon is by More Than Ready and out of Cotopaxi. They are both trained by Chad Brown.

At the 2015 Keeneland September Sale, Hidden Brook purchased several horses for both their racing and pinhooking partnerships.

For their racing partnership, Hidden Brook made two purchases: Hip #1926 for $180,000, and Hip #2851 for $55,000.

Hip #1926 is a filly by top-earning third-crop sire Pioneer of the Nile, who is also currently 6th overall in earnings for 2015.

Hip #2851 is a filly by freshman sire Court Vision, and out of a young Unbridled's Song mare who earned over $125,000 and ran an 8 Ragozin number.

"We think we have two beautiful and very athletic fillies in this year's partnership," said Dan Hall.

The two fillies will soon begin the breaking process at Hidden Brook South in Ocala.

Hidden Brook also purchased five yearlings for their pinhooking partnership:

Hidden Brook will also be forming a racing partnership to purchase a yearling at the upcoming Fasig-Tipton October Sale. If you are interested in joining a racing partnership with Hidden Brook, please contact Dan Hall

Two-year-old Riker, a Hidden Brook recommended purchase for Tucci Stables, is now 3 for 3 in his young career after nabbing his second stakes win on September 5th at Woodbine, finishing the seven-furlong Swynford Stakes in 1:23.39 and 2 ½ lengths ahead of the field.

Riker was purchased for $60,000, and has already earned $140,000 through his first three races. He is by Include and out of Desviacion.

Coach Inge, who was foaled and raised on Hidden Brook and sold for Paul Pompa Jr., finished 2nd in the G1 Woodward Stakes at Saratoga, improving his record to 12-4-3-2 and adding $120,000 to his bankroll.

In his two previous starts, the four-year-old finished 3rd in the G2 Suburban Handicap, and won the G2 Brooklyn Invitational Stakes at Belmont Park. He has earned $556,177 throughout his career. He is by Big Brown and out of Touch Too Much.
