Catch My Drift
Hidden Brook partnership filly Catch My Drift became a stakes winner on August 24th after an impressive win in the Summer Colony Stakes at Saratoga. She came close to earning her first black-type win last year when she finished 2nd in the G3 Turnback the Alarm Stakes by just a half-length.

The win in the Summer Colony Stakes brought the four-year-old's record to 9-4-2-0, with earnings totaling $240,540. She beat 6/5 favorite Tiz So Sweet by 6 ¼ lengths, while earning a 94 Beyer figure and a 7+ Ragozin number.   She finished the 1 1/8 mile race in 1:48.72.

Hidden Brook purchased her as a yearling in September 2012 for $95,000. By Pioneer of the Nile and out of Drift to the Lead, Catch My Drift is trained by Chad Brown, and was ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr. She will now be pointed towards more graded stakes competition in the coming months.

Another Hidden Brook partnership filly, Neck of the Moon, had two good performances in August, winning one and finishing
Neck of the Moon
3rd in another.

On August 10th, she finished 1st in a 1 1/16 turf race at Saratoga with a final time of 1:42.25, besting the 3/5 favorite by a neck and beating a field of ten runners.

Nearly three weeks later at Saratoga, Neck of the Moon fought gamely to finish 3rd in a 1 1/16 mile turf race. Her earnings from the finish pushed her over $200,000 for her career. She has a lifetime record of 12-3-3-4.

The five-year-old is by More Than Ready and out of Cotopaxi. She is trained by Chad Brown, and was ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr.

With the continued success of Hidden Brook's racing partnerships, we would like to extend the opportunity to anyone who would like to take part in one in the future. Through August 27th, our current roster of runners has a 20% win percentage and has run in the money 45% of the time.

The Hidden Brook team is excited about the prospect of buying some promising yearlings at the upcoming Keeneland September Sale taking place from September 14 - 26. If you're interested in joining a racing or pinhooking partnership with Hidden Brook, please feel free to contact

HIDDEN BROOK FLORIDA OPERATION
Hidden Brook has officially acquired the Robert N. Scanlon training center in Williston, Florida in a joint property venture with trainer Randy Bradshaw. The 125-acre facility will act as the main headquarters for Hidden Brook's breaking and training operation led by founding partner Mark Roberts.

Both Randy Bradshaw and Hidden Brook were previously using facilities at Adena Springs South, and will now relocate to the Scanlon training center where they will divide the land and share the three-quarter mile dirt racetrack.

"I am very pleased and proud to partner with Hidden Brook in the purchase of the Scanlon Training Center," said Bradshaw. "It's an outstanding opportunity to expand my operation at a facility with an exceptional reputation. I have professional and personal relationships with the entire Hidden Brook team, and look forward to working together to grow our business interests."

Hidden Brook is currently planning to add a 32-stall barn, which will give us a capacity of approximately 85 stalls. An inner turf course is being constructed by both parties, and should be functional by next spring.

"We all know the quality of the horses that were broken and trained at the facility under the care of Bob [Scanlon] and David [Scanlon]," said Mark Roberts.

Among that list of horses that got their start at the Scanlon training center are Unbridled's Song, Stevie Wonderboy, Lion Heart, Sarava, Bernardini, War Pass, Afleet Alex, Stay Thirsty, Dessert Party, and Rags to Riches, to name a few.

The Hidden Brook team is optimistic about the benefits of the new training center, and the prospect of further expanding and improving their breaking and training operation. For any further questions or inquiries about the purchase, or about Hidden Brook's Florida operation, please contact Mark Roberts.
