Mother's day is just a couple of days away and a huge shipment of plants has arrived just in time in the garden center. If your mom loves plants, you couldn't have a better selection. The cooler temperatures have slowed down many plants but we have rhododendrons and pieris in bloom and others have loads of buds, gorgeous fragrant lilacs 'Lavender Lady', 'Equinox Valley', and 'Maiden's Blush', a disease-resistant Harry Lauder's Walking stick called 'Red Dragon', clematis and honeysuckle vines, many in bloom right now, pearl bush with beautiful white flowers. New roses are in and these are some of the hardiest for this area. The Drift roses have smaller flowers but will bloom throughout the summer and come back from the hardest winter. We have the white, soft yellow, and apricot varieties as well as 'OSO Easy Cherry Pie' rose which is a red with a white eye and a new low rugosa rose 'Raspberry Rugostar'.
