Make Your Pool Time A Workout

With the heat of summer upon us, many people are heading to pools to cool off. Somedays it is just too hot to workout, but instead of just floating around in a pool, take a few minutes to get a quick total body workout in! Many people ask us for some simple exercises they could try. We don't have aquatic therapy at Blue Hills Sports & Spine, but we have put together a handout to give you some ideas on how to take your leisurely float up a few notches. Click here for our pool workout program. Maybe you should print two just incase one gets wet.
Why Physical Therapy?

Many people are surprised to find out how helpful Physical Therapy can be with many different ailments ranging from simple aches and pains to recovery from major trauma. Physical Therapists ARE the experts on motion and strength training, so it makes sense to see one if you have issues with loss of mobility, strength, issues with pain or limitations in function. Getting PT first can save you thousands of dollars in some cases as we can help decrease pain and restore function and help people avoid the costs of surgery or expensive tests. With many insurances, you don't even need a prescription or referral to see a Physical Therapist...you can see us first! The American Physical Therapy Association has lots of information about WHY you should see a PT first. Click here to learn 9 ways a Physical Therapist can help you age better. Print it out and give to someone who you think needs Physical Therapy and send them our way!
7 Minutes To Being More Fit

Summer in New England is usually a pretty busy time. The days are longer, the weather is warmer and it's generally the time for a vacation or two. One of the problems with being so busy is that getting time to workout seems to be harder and harder. Doing some exercise is always better than doing no exercise. Here is a workout that requires no equipment and takes only 7 minutes. It has been designed to work pretty much your entire body...and if you have the time, doing it twice through would be even better. Don't let being too busy to get to the gym be a reason to not exercise. Click here for the workout and give it a try today.
