Highlights from the Environmental Trends Roundtable
On Friday, July 31st, nearly two dozen members and non-member agencies of the Nonprofit Alliance of Monterey County (NAMC) gathered at the Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC) to hear speaker Kristin Cushman of The Offset Project discuss how sustainable practices such as Green Business Certification and environmentally-friendly Best Practices can help our communities and our bottom line.

When Things Change: Sustaining Services in a Changing Environment
Wednesday, Aug. 19, 9 - 11 AM
Portola Hotel Conference Center, Bonsai Room,  2 Portola Plaza, Monterey

Over the past decade and a half, we have always welcomed our health-missioned colleagues to attend our trainings and events that work for your Scope and schedule, but our August 19th Promising Practices Forum comes with an especially heartfelt invitation.

Our theme is "Looking Back ~ Moving Forward", facilitated by Mike Miller, CEO of award-winning Brown Miller Communications.  Mike is well known to many of you for his work with us, Steps, BANPAC and many others working in health education and advocacy.  This will be a celebration of where we began, but more pertinent to your work, this will also be a short course in strategizing for successful futures and ensuring that great work doesn't end when the funding does.  We will also hear from two health leaders who've successfully transitioned their organizations through daunting changes, while maintaining their mission and work.  RSVPs are not necessary, but if you're able to attend or have any questions, please contact me at (831) 747-7983 or mosscd@co.monterey.ca.us.   Feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think might benefit from the information. ~Chris Moss, MC Health Dept.
