| NP Compensation & Benefit Survey |
| |
If you haven't already done so, it's time to participate in "Fair Pay for Northern California Nonprofits: the 2013 Compensation and Benefits Survey".
The best survey of its kind is celebrating its 35th birthday. It will be an important tool to help your organization attract and retain the best and brightest staff to propel you successfully through these tough economic times.
The survey will be useful to organizations of all sizes, but may be especially helpful to larger organizations' IRS reporting requirements regarding executive compensation. Since 2001 the IRS has encouraged charities to go through a set of steps to ensure that executive compensation is set appropriately. On the revised form 990, the IRS has standardized reporting to make comparing salaries easier and is requiring charities to provide information about the process they use to set the salaries of employees who receive $150,000 or more in total compensation.
The survey will help you navigate through this new process and will be a primary tool to help your board of directors document the rationale they use to set the salaries they pay their executives. (For more information about IRS executive compensation reporting requirements, see http://www.nonprofitcomp.com/message.html)
If you don't already have a copy of the 2012 survey report, you can now take advantage of our annual 2-for-1 recession buster offer. You can purchase the 2012 report at 50% off, if at the same time you prepay for the 2013 survey at the discounted participant rate.
To participate in the 2013 survey, and order/or the 2012 survey report (if you don't already have it), visit www.nonprofitcomp.com.
The deadline for participation is February 15.
