CCCIL Joins Vote with Your Mission

CCCIL staff assists consumer with voter registration.
Independent Living Specialist Gabriel Garcia assists consumer Anthony Fry with voter registration.

vymCentral Coast Center for Independent Living (CCCIL) is excited to join Vote with Your Mission, a nonpartisan voter initiative sponsored by the California Association of Nonprofits to get 100% of nonprofit staff and volunteers to vote.

CCCIL is one of a nationwide network of Centers for Independent Living whose philosophy is that people with disabilities have the right to control their own lives and make their own choices. CCCIL promotes the independence of people with disabilities by supporting their equal and full participation in life. Oneof the most important ways to participate in your community and express your choices is to vote. Voting is the tool that people with disabilities can use to maintain their independence and equality. We cannot further civil rights without acknowledging our responsibility to actively engage in the political process.

The Vote with Your Mission Campaign exemplifies the core values of our organization and the engagement we encourage in the people we serve.  The decisions made in the November 2012 General Election will shape State and Federal policies for years to come. We cannot afford to miss our opportunity to make our voices heard.
