Happy Spring from the Foundation

We hope you are as excited as we are about Spring being in the air. There is something about this time of year, in combination with the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, that seems to bring a new life and spark into everything around us. This is also the time of year that we get to begin talking to very deserving students about our scholarship program. To those of you who have trusted us to take care of scholarships in your name, THANK YOU for allowing us to be part of something so special. We are feeling so blessed with the continued growth of our scholarship program and we look forward to sharing with you more stories about such deserving students such as Nicholas.

Blessings from the Foundation,
Anita, Jackie, and Marci

Nicholas Kaufmann: A student, a coach, a future pastor.

Nicholas Kaufmann is a student at St. Paul's School of Theology and is pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree. He is a member of Elkhorn Hills United Methodist Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska and was a recipient of the Foundation's seminary scholarship program for the 2015-2016 academic school year. Prior to seminary school, Nicholas worked as a youth coordinator for the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Nebraska.  Nicholas enjoys being involved in the church in many different capacities. This past semester he volunteered in the Matthew's Ministry at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. He also has served on a mission experience to Cuba for a week. Nicholas' service to others doesn't just stop at the church's doors. He is a nationally certified Emergency Medical Technician and has also spent some time as one of the assistant coaches for the men's soccer team at Central Community College. In his free time, you may find Nicholas discovering new food with friends at local restaurants, listening to music, or enjoying athletics. Coming from a family with two brothers, he is supported and encouraged by them, as well as by his parents and grandparents. However, Nicholas is careful to point out the following, "Without the financial support from the Foundation's scholarship program, I would be unable to pursue the calling in ministry that God has imparted upon me."

Nicholas heard his calling. Are you hearing yours?  Is God calling you to support young individuals like Nicholas, embarking on a journey to keep the future of the United Methodist Church alive and thriving?  If God is calling you to make a difference in the life of someone like Nicholas, please contact the Foundation so we may help you do just this.  For those of you who have heard God's calling to help future pastors and church leaders, Nicholas has this to say: "Thank you to all the donors who support the funding of scholarships for seminary students.  You are part of wonderful student legacies, which are being built at St. Paul School of Theology and many other seminary schools around the area." And the Foundation, too, would like to say thank you for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful opportunity in distributing scholarships in your name or in the honor or memory of your loved ones.
