In Thanksgiving
No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks. -James Allen

The cool crisp autumn air is upon us now and everywhere we look, we can see God's presence.  The beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the changing of the leaves, and the breathtaking tree that seems to be glowing against a bright blue sky makes it apparent that God is busy with his brush....painting inspiration all around us.

With Thanksgiving upon us, it is a wonderful time of  year to reflect on the special blessings in our lives.  Here at the Foundation, we thank God every day for the many people and churches we get to do business with.  We say business because we always strive to provide the utmost professional service to you, although it is much more than just business to us.  You have become our friends.....the people we love to hear from and the people we love to serve.  Seeing all of the hard work you do for your churches and ministries to help pave the way for the future of the United Methodist Church is inspirational to us all year round.  We are so thankful to be a part of your journey.  We love to see your growth and the abundant blessings that happen from hard work, faith, and good stewardship.  Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your journey and thank you for continuing to be an inspiration for us here at the Foundation.

May God continue to bless each and every one of you and the work you do!
Anita, Jackie and Marci

The Perfect Gift
Are you struggling to find the perfect gift for someone? Something they will find brown_paper_gift.jpg meaningful, unique and important? Consider making a gift to your church or favorite charity in their honor - or a gift in memory of a loved one.

If you are interested in honoring a loved one, it is a simple process here at the Foundation.  You send in your donation and the name of the person you wish to honor, along with their mailing address. We send a letter notifying the person a gift has been made in their honor, and naming you as the donor - but the amount of the gift is never disclosed. You may also designate the gift to support something specific, such as pastoral scholarships - and this would also be mentioned in the letter to the honoree.

For memorial gifts, you would name the deceased being remembered, and supply us with the mailing address of the family or friend you wish to notify of the gift being made. Again, the amount of the gift is never disclosed, and the gift may be designated to a particular fund.

Here at the Foundation, there are also many named funds that were started by individuals, couples or families, but ANYONE can make a gift to these funds. Please call us to request this list - there may be someone you know who would be thrilled if you made a gift.

If you would like more information, please don't hesitate to call us at 1-877-495-5545.
Board Member Spotlight
We are happy to welcome and introduce you to one of our newest Board members, Leslie Gibbens.  Leslie has been a part of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lincoln for over 40 years.  She is the youngest of six children and is married to husband Brian Hefner,  and has two daughters Maggie (21) and Lily (12) and a son Frank (19). Murphy, an excitable chocolate lab, completes their family.  During her free time, Leslie enjoys spending time with her family, especially attending sporting events that her children participate in.  She also enjoys walking their dog, reading, and doing work around the house.  She and her husband enjoy going to movies, as well as trying new cuisine.

Leslie works for Union Bank & Trust(UBT) as a Trust Services Advisor.   She has been with UBT for 15 years and has been in trust services for over 25 years.  She enjoys working with wonderful individuals and customers at the bank. Leslie's strong commitment to the community is obvious in her volunteer work.  She has participated in Teammates and Leadership Lincoln.  She is currently serving as the Finance Chair for Trinity UMC and sits on the Board for the Child Advocacy Center.  She is also on the Advisory Committee for the Community Learning Centers and is a Trustee for the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools.

We are looking forward to getting to know Leslie.  It is quite apparent to us that she is an excellent addition to the Board!
