Documentary film crew visits the Heartland farm

Last week, an independent film crew came out and spent the week following around the Heartland staff and OFS (Operation Fresh Start) crew. The crew captured what the staff and volunteers are lucky enough to see every day - youth and adults making meaningful connections with rescued animals. Heartland is honored to be part of this film, which will document the lives of farm animals in the U.S. We are hopeful the film will be out in early 2016! Stay tuned!
Camp Heartland - The summer of a lifetime!

The phrase "Time flies when you're having fun," certainly applies to Camp Heartland!  We are halfway through our ten weeks and campers and counselors alike can't get enough!  At least half of our kids are repeat campers, having come in previous years AND previous weeks this summer!  Kids have mixed feelings when their parents come at pick-up time - they don't want to leave, but they're also so excited to give family members tours, introducing them to all of the animals and telling stories the entire time.

Camp Heartland is extraordinary! Did you miss out this summer? Keep an eye out for Fall Camp dates to be announced soon!

Animal Spotlight: Sansa the Duck
Sansa was found stray near Milwaukee over two years ago. Not being a wild duck, someone called the local animal control and HFS was contacted to see if we could provide a safe home.
