Hello Lakeview Families,
On March 1st we will be refreshing our parking lot procedures to increase student safety and expedite drop-off and pick-up and are asking all of our families to do their part. It is critical that students are only ever dropped-off and picked-up on the curb, students should not be walking through the parking lot to get into or out of your vehicle. This makes it vital that the curb is used only for drop-off and pick-up and not for parking. Additionally, the north lot is not for drop-off, pick-up, or turn around. (This is the lot that spurs off of the upper lot and goes near the basketball court.)
As a school we have voted to change our handbook policy and beginning March 1st we will be allowing students to walk through the main doors on the east of the school, past the office to and out the west doors for morning line up, rather than walking all the way around the building. In the afternoon students will be allowed to walk through the west main doors, by the office, and out the east main doors for afternoon pick up. We expect this will encourage curbside-only drop-off and pick-up and will reduce the temptation for north lot drop-off and pick-up.
Next week we will be sending out a video demonstrating proper traffic flow and drop-off and pick-up procedures leading up to our March 1st reboot. Thank you for doing your part in making our parking lot a safe, smooth experience for students and fellow Lakeview families.
Thanks.
- Steve
