Lakeview Families,
It has been a wonderful, warm welcome at Lakeview and I could not be more excited to be here! The energy around dance week has been palpable, with students practicing their moves every day this week in preparation for Family Dance Night this Friday at 6:30-8:00pm. I know my family and I will be there boogying and enjoying the pizza, candy, and drinks. I hope to see your family there.
This week was our third graders who completed SBA testing in English Language Arts. Next week our 5th graders will complete the SBA ELA exam, after which we will have a two week testing break before we begin SBA Math testing and the 5th Grade Science MSP. Your students are doing a fantastic job, and I hope you will encourage your students to have some fun -get outside, move, and play- as well as get a good night's rest the evening before testing.
Next week is the PTSA General Meeting on Thursday, April 23rd at 6pm. I would encourage you to come and participate in the incredible work the PTSA is doing on behalf of our 500+ students. Again, I hope to see you there.

Lakeview Marathon News!
Lakeview 2015 Marathon Begins Next Monday, 4/20! During lunch recess, come punch student lap cards and cheer them on in their quest to finish a marathon! The marathon is scheduled for every school day from 4/20 - 5/29. Click here to sign up to help. You may also come and run with your child if you'd like! Lunch recess times are 11:55-12:25 (4th/5th); 12:25-12:55 (K/1st); 12:55-1:25 (2nd/3rd). Thanks for your participation!

Family Dance Night is Coming 4/17!
Everybody Limbo!!
Get ready for Family Dance Night on Friday, April 17, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
This year's dance will be a Beach Party theme so come prepared to dance the night away in your board shorts, grass skirts and flip flops.
Pizza, beverages, candy and donuts will be available for purchase at the concessions stand.

Lakeview Carnival May 15-Volunteers Needed!
The Lakeview Carnival is Friday 2/15, 630-830pm. However, we need volunteers for the behind-the-scenes preparation! We are looking for good-natured volunteers!
Planning for the Lakeview Carnival is underway, and many volunteers are needed. From selling tickets to handing out pizza, from running games to cleaning up after the fun, a great Carnival depends on a great set of volunteers. We invite you to sign up to volunteer with your child as a way to experience community service together! If your middle or high school student needs volunteer hours this is a great way to help out!
We are in need of donations for concessions-from utensils to water and sodas--all donations are helpful.
New this year: The carnival features a twist on the Cake Walk - A Cupcake Walk! All cupcakes, all the time. Lots of cupcakes are needed to make this traditional event happen.
