Lakeview Families,
Spring is certainly in the air at Lakeview. Sunshine, birds, and flowers everywhere! It's been beautiful. Our students are doing a great job of staying focused and learning so much!
State testing (SBA) begins on Tuesday of next week so our school will be in full testing mode. This means that announcements will be limited, bells will be turned off, and anyone in the halls needs to be very quiet. Thank you for remembering this.
Reserve a place forms were sent home earlier this week with your student. Please fill those out and return them to us by March 30th. This helps us in our planning and staffing for next year so we appreciate your help in providing us this important information.
Hope to see you all at our annual Art Walk on Thursday, April 2nd at 6:00. The Art Walk was the first Lakeview event I ever attended and has been one of my favorites ever since.

Spring Enrichment Class Enrollment Ends 3/31!
Enrichment Classes: Spring Session, April 13 - June 12, 2015
The after school spring enrichment flyer was sent home with your child today. First-come, first-serve online registration ends on Tuesday, 3/31. In order to ensure accurate class rosters, late registrations will NOT be accepted. Click here to access the enrichment flyer online; click here to go to the Sign Up Genius for spring session enrollment.
Revised Registration Process!! Make only one paypal payment for EACH child's class(es) by selecting all of the classes that your child wishes to take on the first page of the Sign Up Genius. Please complete a separate Sign Up Genius session and payment for EACH child in your family. Scholarships are available by lottery; for consideration, please contact the enrichment chair at lakptsaenrichment@gmail.com or by text 773.814.3768.
Very Important Chaperones! (VICs) - VICs chaperone every week for a class for the entire session and they are offered FREE enrollment for that class for one child. Must be LWSD approved volunteer and PTSA member. If interested, please contact the enrichment chair at lakptsaenrichment@gmail.com or by text 773.814.3768.
Chaperones needed! Some classes are in jeopardy of being canceled due to lack of chaperones. One chaperone is required for each class, each week. If you are able to chaperone one (or more) classes, please sign up here.

Lakeview Marathon News!
The 2015 Lakeview Marathon will begin on Monday, 4/20. Are you interested in volunteering to help with this fun event? We'd like to form a marathon committee to help with the following: punch card preparation, spreadsheet updates, bulletin board design, field set-up and onsite supervision, coordination of daily volunteers. If you'd like more information or would like to volunteer, please email lakptsamarathon@gmail.com. We hope that you'll join us!

Box Tops a Success-Thanks for Donating!
Our 2nd Box Tops drive of the year totaled $180 in donations to our school! Go Leopards! The class with the most Box Tops donations was Mrs. Adams' 4th grade!
Continue to save those Box Tops and be on the lookout for our next Box Tops drive this Fall!

Yearbooks: Last Day to Order Next Friday 4/3!
Pre-orders for the Lakeview 2014-2015 yearbook are due on Friday, 4/3. Extra forms are located outside the school's front office in the magazine racks. Yearbooks are $17 each. Make checks payable to Lakeview PTSA.

Family Dance Night is Coming 4/17!
Everybody Limbo!!
Get ready for Family Dance Night on Friday, April 17, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
This year's dance will be a Beach Party theme so come prepared to dance the night away in your board shorts, grass skirts and flip flops.
Pizza, beverages, candy and donuts will be available for purchase at the concessions stand.

Lakeview Carnival May 15-Volunteers Needed!
The Lakeview Carnival is Friday 2/15, 630-830pm. However, we need volunteers for the behind-the-scenes preparation! We are looking for good-natured volunteers!
Planning for the Lakeview Carnival is underway, and many volunteers are needed. From selling tickets to handing out pizza, from running games to cleaning up after the fun, a great Carnival depends on a great set of volunteers. We invite you to sign up to volunteer with your child as a way to experience community service together! If your middle or high school student needs volunteer hours this is a great way to help out!
We are in need of donations for concessions-from utensils to water and sodas--all donations are helpful.
New this year: The carnival features a twist on the Cake Walk - A Cupcake Walk! All cupcakes, all the time. Lots of cupcakes are needed to make this traditional event happen.

5th Grade Parents: Join Kirkland MS PTSA!
In a blink of an eye, your child will be graduating from elementary school and entering 6th grade.
