Lakeview Families,

We recently sponsored a Pennies for Patients fundraiser. This is a program that supports research and patient aid in support of their mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins disease, and myeloma as well as improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

We are happy to report that our students (and of course their parents!) embraced this fundraiser and were able to raise $1,310.47. Many students donated their own money, some collected money from neighbors and friends, and others asked for jobs to earn money to donate to their class fund. I am very proud of our students for their participation in this important cause.

The class who raised the most money won a pizza party. We are happy to announce that class was Ms. Fraley/Ms. Hasty's class. They were overjoyed when we announced it at the assembly.

Thanks for supporting programs such as these and helping our students learn the valuable lessons of service, empathy, and gratitude.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Rebekah

Lakeview Marathon Information

Yes, there will be a marathon again this year! Some of the details are still being finalized but we wanted everyone to know (please tell your children.) The PTSA is taking over running the marathon so in order to make it a success we will need volunteers (and runners!)

Details will be announced shortly and sign up will be needed for the following positions:

  • Class parents to weekly track and report the status of all runners for each class and to distribute awards
  • Punchers at each recess to hole punch each child's card to show laps completed

If you are available Thursday, 4/24 (afternoon) or Friday, 4/25 (morning) to assist in preparing the class marathon boxes, please contact Coleen Roberts at coleen.p.roberts@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you all during the marathon.
