Lakeview Families,

Happy New Year! Though I'm not always great at keeping them, I'm a big believer in setting resolutions. I have set many this year. Among them: give up sugar (this has been harder than I'd like to admit), run a half marathon with my dad, and do a better job appreciating the little things in my life. At the top of my list though, is a resolution about your kids.

I spent the last half of 2013 absolutely enchanted, inspired, and entertained by them. My resolution for this year is to make sure, as the months go by, that novelty never wears off. I want to always appreciate their passion, energy, and curiosity and continue to be entertained by their stories and comments. They make my life brighter and, as we begin a new year, I'm grateful for them.

I hope your 2014 is off to a wonderful start!

Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly
Lakeview will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a special assembly on Friday, 1/17 at 9:15am in the gym. The assembly will feature a performance by the choir and special songs sung by the students and readings about the message of Dr. King's life. There is no school Monday, 1/20 to honor his life and legacy.
Lakeview Carnival Coming Soon!
The Lakeview Carnival is coming, and we need your help.
Can you bake? Great! Are you good at frog hop? Fantastic!
Whatever you can do, wherever you can help, we've got a place for you.
We have nearly 100 volunteer slots to fill to make this Carnival great. Do you have 30 minutes to spare on Friday, 2/7? We've got a place for you!
Set-up starts about 4:30pm, and the event runs from 6:30 to 8 pm on Friday, 2/7 at Lakeview.

Every family who volunteers will be recognized this month over the announcements. It's this spirit of volunteering and community that keeps events like the Carnival running and strengthens our school!
