Lakeview Families,

Thank you for coming out to our curriculum night. I was so happy with the level of attendance! Supporting your students in this way will have long term impact on their academic careers. Our students are lucky to have the support that they do.

Thank you for supporting them in other ways, too. Being aware of what they are covering in class, asking them what they learned each day, helping them with homework, and of course, reading with them daily, are key factors in their success at school.

MSP scores were sent home with your students last week. If you are the parent of a fourth or fifth grader and didn't get an individual score report, let us know and we can make sure you get another copy. We are so proud of how our students performed! Give your kids a pat on the back.

Have a wonderful week!

Rebekah

Walk to School Week
Thanks to all the parents who took the time to help their kids walk or bike to school this week! And thanks to the many parents who helped plan, organize, and run the event. The punch cards will get collected today, and we'll announce on Monday which class won the Menchie's party!

Save the date: Stride with Pride Jog-a-thon
On Wednesday, 10/23 Lakeview will host the biggest fundraiser of the year, Stride with Pride Jog-a-thon. Show your pride by helping us reach our fundraising goal of $40,000 with our first Jog-a-thon. The Jog-a-thon is the time we ask families to consider making a generous donation to our school.

This year, we need new playground equipment for the yard. Outdated and unsafe equipment was removed last year and needs to be replaced. The LWSD does not replace outdated equipment, so it is up to the PTSA and parent community to fund the estimated $40,000 cost to give our students the safe & fun yard they deserve.

Money raised from this fundraiser will support a multitude of PTSA sponsored programs including: new playground equipment, art and science programs, reading and math support, student assemblies, drama and choir, field trips, additional materials for your child's classroom, fun-filled family events and much more!

It is easy to do...your child will bring home a collection envelope in October with all of the information inside. Your child will then ask for donations from relatives, neighbors, and friends who want to support your child
running in the school Jog-a-thon on Wednesday, 10/23. That's it!! Many companies match funds so check with your employers to DOUBLE your child's donations. We're looking forward to a successful Jog-a-thon!
