BBQ Celebration You're invited to a double celebration! Come to school and eat a BBQ lunch with your child on Wednesday, 6/5 as we celebrate Lakeview's Birthday and the Walking Wednesday program success! We will be raffling off Lakeview shoelaces, water bottles, bike lights, Menchie's and 7-11 gift cards, and ONE coveted Lakeview umbrella! Parents and students can complete a short questionnaire at the Walking Wednesday table and enter to win! Hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers and cake will be served. Kids may use their lunch cards or bring $3.25, adult lunches are $4.00. Lunch time for K-1st graders is 11:55- 12:20pm, for 2nd-3rd graders is 12:20-12:45pm, and for 4th-5th graders is 12:50-1:15pm. Auction Chair Spotlight: Jenni Heuberger
Thank you to everyone who participated in the success of the "Leaping Our Leopards Into The Future" Auction. Most especially, to our extraordinary auction chair, Jenni Heuberger, who spent the better part of this entire school year putting all the pieces together. Her roles and responsibilities were endless. Thanks to Jenni's efforts not only did we exceed our financial goal, but also had an enjoyable night out as part of the Lakeview community. As this year's main fundraiser, Jenni's efforts are very much appreciated. Bravo!

Kirkland Bike Safety Fair
Mark your calendars for Friday, 6/7 for The Kirkland Rock & Roll Safety Fair, to be held as part of Juanita Friday Market. This event will be located at Juanita Park, 9703 NE Juanita Drive, from 3-7pm. Bring your bikes & helmets, including your old bikes which you can donate at the fair. Helmets are also available for a $10 donation. There will be free bike decorating, a Bike Rodeo for kids ages 3-8, helmet fittings, and safe walking and intersection safety games. BikeWorks will be accepting old or used bikes to support their community programs in a van at the park entrance with easy drop-off. Attention Lakeview Parents
You are invited to our next PTSA general meeting in the school library at 6:30pm Thursday, 6/13. One of our agenda items is to ask you to vote on proposed revisions to our PTSA Standing Rules. We are making a few changes to better reflect the reality of how our PTSA works. Every PTA/PTSA has standing rules; our document on how our Lakeview PTSA operates and makes decisions, consistent with the uniform bylaws of the Washington State PTA, is available here. Also taking place on Thursday, 6/13 is the Kindergarten Concert which will be held in the gym from 6-6:20pm followed by a presentation from the Lakeview staff and Zeno. This is an opportunity for parents to learn about ways to support their child's learning over the summer through reading, math games and on-line tools. The summer enrichment workshop will take place after the PTSA General Meeting.
