PTSA General Membership Meeting, 3/28

Everyone is welcome to attend our general membership meeting next week, Thursday, 3/28 from 6:30-8pm in the school library. It's a great chance to hear what's going on in our school community, meet other parents, and get your questions answered.

We'll elect next year's PTSA officers and have a brief overview of Kirkland Junior High from a couple of parent representatives. We're also very pleased to welcome Chris Carlson, a member of the Lake Washington School Board. Chris will be on hand for Q&A as a follow up to the many district-themed questions parents raised during our fall survey.

Thanks to all for a great Carnival!

The 2013 Lakeview PTSA Carnival was a terrific success! Thanks to the many students and parents who volunteered -- whether you set up, baked goodies, sold tickets, ran games, emptied garbage, sold food, managed kids, cleaned up -- every job was truly important to the event's success. A special thanks to the parents who were recruited to volunteer the night of the Carnival to fill in for tired volunteers or help with concessions ... we truly appreciate your good-natured helping hands! An event like this depends on lots of volunteers to make it safe, fun and successful.  Thanks from the 2013 Carnival Team.

Nominate an Outstanding Lakeview Volunteer

Do you know a volunteer at Lakeview who has gone above and beyond this year, doing wonderful things for our Lakeview kids? Each year, the Lakeview PTSA gives out the "Golden Acorn Award" to recognize one very special volunteer who has given outstanding service to ALL children in the Lakeview community. The winner will be honored at our school's Volunteer Tea toward the end of the school year, so we need your input now to select them!

Using the form located here, http://www.lwsd.org/school/lakeview/SiteCollectionDocuments/GoldenAcorn.pdf, please nominate one person and include the reasons you feel they deserve the Award! This form is due back to the school by Monday, 4/15. You may send it to school with your child, or put it in the PTSA inbox. These nominations will be considered by a small committee and decided upon based on the state PTSA guidelines for this award.  If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Dettweiler at bdettweiler@hotmail.com.
